Confused?? Please Help!! 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Hey there. Basicaly I'm 25, have a full car licence (after feb 01), and I'm taking my CBT with BUMPY on Thurs on a 125cc scooter and I am looking to buy a 125cc scooter. Now I was under the impression that once I had completed my CBT and sent the DL196 certificate off with my driving licence I would be able to ride a 125cc scooter with L plates, no passengers or no motorways, and the CBT certificate would last as long as my driving licence does on my 70th birthday.
After reading other websites I may have become slightly confused. As I have read that this would gain me a provisional motorbike licence in which I would need to repeat the CBT every 2 years until I took the theory and practical test.
I was kinda hoping that this would be enough to ride my scooter to and from work and I wouldn't have to regularly re-do tests. I'm not even looking to upgrade to anything faster then a 125cc scooter and so wouldn't really want to take my full motorbike test. Am I able to just ride on a provisional motorbike licence long term?
Any enlightenment would be appreciated!!

By now you will have been informed that YES your CBT only last for 2 Years and then if you have not passed the Theory and Prctical test you MUST retake the CBT to continue riding.
