With warm, dry facilities and well maintained bikes, we will give you an on road training experience which is practical, comfortable and second to none in its quality.

CBT AT BUMPY

Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) courses are the first step in on-road riding. They allow you to ride a 50cc moped or scooter (at age 16) or up to 125cc scooter or bike (over 17s only) on the road, and the CBT is the first stage in gaining your full motorbike licence.

We run CBT courses 7 days a week. Courses normally start at 8.45am and last one full day. We provide bikes and scooters, and we can loan you a helmet and gloves if you haven’t got your own yet.

Please note: The CBT course is about teaching you what you need to know to be safe on the roads, not how to ride a bike. If you have never ridden a bike before, you may find it helpful to take a basic riding lesson before you sit the CBT course. Please call for details.

TRAIN FOR YOUR TEST AT BUMPY

The CBT is your first step.

At 17 years plus you can take a 125cc test on passing this you will be allowed to ride a motorcycle restricted to 33 bhp for 2 years after which your restriction will be lifted.

At 21 years plus you may wish to ride any size motorcycle. The Direct Access Scheme (DAS) will allow you to access any size motorcycle.

Pre CBT

• Introduction to motorcycling.
• Co-ordination of machine and controls.
• Moving off and stopping.

CBT

• Carryout the 5 Elements in accordance with DSA CBT Syllabus.

• Train to pass your Theory and Hazard Perception test.

Conversion

• Move from 125cc up to 500cc.
• Get comfortable with differing weight and power.

Module 1 Training

• Practice manoeuvres in preparation for DSA module 1 test.

Module 2 Training

• Practice road riding skills in preparation for DSA module 2 test.
